What does No KYC really mean?
· 5 min read
What no-KYC really covers, when a “partial” check appears, and how to avoid locking a withdrawal behind a document request you were never warned about.
Know Your Customer rules exist because gambling sites move money. They also get used as a delay tactic. The useful split is not “KYC casino” versus “anonymous casino”. It is when identity is required, for how much, and whether that rule is on the site before you deposit.
None
A genuine no-KYC operator lets you register with an email or wallet, play, and withdraw under a published cap without a passport scan. Above the cap, most still reserve the right to ask. If there is no cap written down, “no KYC” is a slogan.
Partial
Partial usually means a selfie or a utility bill after a threshold, or a check when payouts look automated. It is less painful than a full file, and more honest than pretending nothing will ever be asked. We mark casinos this way when the cashier or T&Cs describe a trigger rather than a full onboarding scan.
Required up front
Some licences force identity before the first deposit. That is slower to start and cleaner at cash-out, because the fight already happened. If you hate uploading documents, these brands are not for you, but they are not automatically worse. They are a different trade: friction now versus friction later.
The surprise request
The pattern to avoid is a social-media “no verification” clip, a large win, then a week of “please send a bank statement in colour”. Screenshot the KYC policy on day one. If the live policy is stricter than the page you saved, that is a dispute, not a misunderstanding.
Every casino on Chipindex carries a KYC label of none, partial or required, taken from the same pages we expect you to read. When those pages change, the label should change with them.
